Hi, I'm Capt Saam. I learned to SCUBA dive in 1977 earning a YMCA Scuba Diver certification. While at the University of Miami I spent a lot of time in the water in the Keys. After I returned from school I continued my Scuba education with Advanced Diver, Master Scuba Diver, and Rescue Diver, In 1985 I became a Divemaster Followed by Assistant Instructor. In 1987 I earned my NAUI Scuba Instructor rating. I continued up to Instructor Trainer and Course Director. I am also an American Red Cross Instructor, American Heart Assoc. Instructor, an FAA Advanced Aviation Ground Instructor, and an ASIA Snowboard Instructor. I have a 6 year Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering degree. I hold a US Coast Guard Master Captain license.
I founded Capt. Saam's Scuba School in 1995 after working as a staff instructor for eight years locally and in Hawaii. Initially the school was just education, travel, and charters. In 2003 we opened a full service retail dive shop in Stamford.
While I do a great deal of tropical dive travel I really enjoy diving locally in Long Island Sound. Our local wrecks and night diving for lobsters are what keeps me totally into the sport.

Hi I'm Commander Tim. I began diving as a midshipman through a YMCA course at the Naval Academy in 1977. I took a PADI refresher in 1985 while stationed in Monterey CA, then spent the next 3 years as a volunteer diver for the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I'm now an expert on cleaning algae from Plexiglas while underwater. During the summer of 2003, I signed up with Capt. Saam to work my way up to become a NAUI Instructor and a YSCUBA Instructor. The following summer, I now hold a NAUI Instructor Trainer rating.

Hi I am Alexi. I have been a
diver since 2004. I started diving while on Active Duty for the US Army in
Italy. I have dove in the beautiful waters of Italy, the Caribbean, the Red
Sea, the Florida Keys and now the best diving of them all the Long Island
Sound. I have been a NAUI Instructor for the since 2006 years and I am currently a
New York City EMT.
Hi I'm Dev. I started diving in 1989 while I
was living in Miami Beach. I am a NAUI and PADI instructor, and hold technical
certifications from TDI and GUE. In addition, I am a certified cylinder
inspector and oxygen first aid provider. I teach at Capt Saam's purely for
the enjoyment of introducing people to the beauty and excitement of the
underwater world. I currently dive in cooler New
England waters, in Japan where I travel on business 5 - 6 times a year, and on
vacations. My personal diving interests lie in technical wreck, reef, and cave
diving. You'll occasionally see me practicing my technique in the pool, dressed
in a DrySuit, wearing big steel double tanks and carrying one or more deco
bottles. I'm looking forward to diving with you!
